I have been homeschooling my son for a little over three years. Technically, it’s online learning and not considered homeschool, but the concept is the same. My son is enrolled at an online public charter school. He has teachers that instruct him, but I am his learning coach. Every day, I take on the role of a teacher, administrator, lunch lady… You get the idea.
Just like many of you, we started online learning in the midst of a disaster. Soon after my son was enrolled in his new school, we were hit by a hurricane… … More So, You’re New to Online Learning…
I was working on a new post about school lunches versus homemade lunches entitled “School Lunch Blues. Already?” when the situation hit the fan. My son was in trouble. Again. I finally had a teacher that contacted me before the first round of report card related conferences. It made me happy to know the communication … More The Bully – A Road to Homeschooling
My son and I are enjoying our summer vacation so far, and we were long overdue for the adventures of our past. Things that were once important to us are being addressed again. I haven’t even had time to publish a couple of blog posts I’ve been planning for weeks. However, I can’t just quit and take away an opportunity for my son. I just won’t stand for any man telling me I’m just bitching when I bring up a legitimate question. I wasn’t wrong, and he knows it… … More Come to a meeting!
I was inspired to start my own blog by several special people in my life. To be honest, I’m doing this mostly for me. Love me, or hate me, I am who I am. Yes, I’m opinionated, and I often come across as a know it all. I will be the first to tell you that I don’t know it all. … More Pause and think about it.
